Preparing For The New Year

Preparing For The New Year

Preparing For The New Year With the arrival of December, we’re in the final stretch of 2020. It’s been a hard year for most. We lost an entire summer due to the pandemic and we’re still largely dealing with it on a daily basis. Our election should have been decided last month but continues to take up the news cycle. And the isolation of sheltering has put us all in a bit of a funk. I really wish I could be more positive about 2021, given that we managed to get out of 2020, but unfortunately, I can’t. We’re heading for a recession and may not be able to course correct for a long time. And the pandemic seems to be depressing many of us at a rate greater than we can process. We’re long overdue for some good news. It would be a bit reckless to plan big events and gathering at this time. Many engaged couples will wind up postponing their wedding plans in 2021, or doing smaller, more intimate services, to prevent spreading COVID-19. The us ... read more

Showing Gratitude For Our Cars

Showing Gratitude For Our Cars

Showing Gratitude For Our Cars   November is here at last… with autumn at its peak, in the U.S., we start to prepare for the holiday season with our first big occasion, Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving began 400 years ago this year, when the pilgrims on the Mayflower saw the Atlantic coastline and joined together to read Psalm 100 to commemorate the moment. That little ceremony became the basis for our annual feast, to give thanks. The pilgrims endured a rough 65-day crossing of the Atlantic in search of religious freedom, and nearly turned back halfway into the voyage. It’s easy to see why they gave thanks for their arrival on solid land again. We suspect that this Thanksgiving will be a very emotional one. While Kentucky has thankfully not been hit as hard by COVID19 as other states, it’s still something we had to contend with and many of us have not seen loved ones all summer. Here’s hoping we all get to sit down together for the holidays and enjoy tim ... read more

The History of Mercedes-Benz

The History of Mercedes-Benz

The History of Mercedes-Benz The Mercedes Benz company finds its roots reaching back to Karl Benz’s creation of the first internal combustion engine car, the Benz Patent Motorwagen in 1886. Seeing continued success with this concept, Benz and other engineers continued to work on automobiles in earnest. After a merger combined Karl Benz’s company with that of the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) company, Daimler-Benz was born in 1926. Mercedes-Benz then became the brand name for the Daimler-Benz company. While Daimler-Benz continued to profit through the 30’s, World War II saw the Nazi regime take advantage of their vehicle factories, forcing 46,000 laborers to bolster the Nazi war efforts. Mercedes-Benz eventually paid reparations for their part in profiting off genocide and destruction during the war. Since then, the company has continued to lead the way at the forefront of automotive technology innovation and creation. Technological and safety innovatio ... read more

What Goes Into Preventive Maintenance?

What Goes Into Preventive Maintenance?

What Goes Into Preventive Maintenance? Preventive maintenance is essentially taking care of any maintenance on a vehicle in order to prevent a major auto repair from occurring. The easiest way to prevent more costly repairs is to keep up with your car’s general maintenance needs as time goes on. Whatever you do, don’t neglect your vehicle’s general maintenance needs, as it is the number one way to waste your money on your car! Regular minimal investments in your car’s preventive maintenance will go a long way towards avoiding larger, more costly repairs in the future. From the moment you begin driving your car, you’re already putting wear and tear on its various parts and components. From the normal commute to long road trips, driving in general will slowly eat away at your vehicle, causing an eventual need for auto repairs. That being said, each new model of car that comes out also comes with a preventive maintenance schedule as dictated by the ... read more
